Bradley, whose father, John, was one of the six men pictured in the famous photograph of the flag-raising on Mt. 2000 videotape he made of a talk given by author James Bradley at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. The words below were transcribed from an October, A.D. The author below does not give his own name, but it is Michael T Powers. Heartwarming and sobering at the same time. Here is a story that was sent to me, and I am sending it along.
I took a bag lunch and ate there once or twice. I used to work right across the street from the Newseum on Pennsylvania Avenue, and so was only three miles from the Iwo Jima Memorial in Rosslyn.
